To my friends and subscribers

I have been very busy working on two other blogs and I want to share. I will most likely let this blog go. I needed more space and so I have moved over to typepad. More space and it's easier for me to use. So please check them out, I think you'll like it!

Embrace Life

Embrace life. That is exactly what I'm doing these days. Since my June 30th diagnosis of Pulmonary Hypertension I'm learning to embrace life more each day. Granted, the continuous fight with oxygen tubing and the extra time it takes just to get the portable ready to head out the door do make me a bit crabby. Dh called me today and his presentation was well received. He even got a standing ovation, how cool is that? I'm so proud of him. This small town country boy that I married grew and grew into a wonderful man and has accomplished so much more than we ever even dreamed about. He is what it is all about, making a positive difference in the lives of others and truly caring about people, all shapes, sizes and colors. To be part of his life, I'm truly blessed. Now, when he comes home and starts giving me crap non stop I'm likely to change my mind, LOL.... Today for me has been a junk food binge. Shame, shame on me! Swedish pancakes for breakfast courtesy of the recipe from www.rosylittlethings.typepad.com , Alicia, thanks a ton, I SO love your blog. Posie Gets Cozy is one of my favorite blogs, her doggie Clover melts my heart. Later in the day I whipped into Kentucky Fried Chicken and had the two piece leg meal....can you say "oink". I swear I'm gettin on the treadmill tonight no matter what!

swap time!

I decided that it was time to start swapping again for awhile and have some fun. This card is my August swap card for a group that I have joined. Simple but cute and it's 4.25 x 4.25. I used the SU set "if the halo fits" for this one and Ruby & Cameo card stock.

It is so quiet around here. My dh is in the Dominican Republic for a week and I miss him so much already! He left Sunday morning and will be back in a week but I'm so use to him calling me several times a day and then maybe watching a movie with me in the evenings.....Now it's just me and the dogs. This evening I made apple/raisin/walnut cookies. They are so yummy, super soft cookies. Kind of like Spice cake with raisins, nuts, & apples in it in a cookie form. Looks like I might be putting on some weight while he's gone!! LOL That'll teach him to leave me here with nothing to do.

So what is your favorite cookie?

New Nestabilities

I recently purchased the longer rectangle nestablilities dies in both sizes of scallop and straight edge. Yep, that's 4 full sets of fun! Now that I have my cuttlebug machine and these awesome dies I can't imagine what we did before they existed. They really make crafting fun and easy. This image is Ollie and Olivia from Stampendous. The saying is from them too. I used Stampin' Up! card stock, ribbon, brad, and photo corner punch. The button is Lasting Impressions. I really like birds of all kinds and I've been watching the barn owls in Italy, Texas on a web cam http://watch.birds.cornell.edu/nestcams/camera/view?cameraID=C100016 so I was inspired to play with the Owl image. Hope you like it!

Stuck on You

It has been very busy around here lately but I managed to snag enough time to run into the stamp room and make a cute little "love" card to slip into my husbands brief case next week. He's taking off for a few days and I wanted something to send with him. Normally it would have been me but I'm just not feeling up to it. My last trip to the doctors included some tests on my heart and because of my lack of oxygen, I have Pulmonary Hypertension to go with the Fibrosis that I already had. So now I'm on oxygen most of the time and I'm feeling so drained of energy. I see little kids playing and just wish that I could borrow some of theirs...... oh well, it's fun to watch them run and play!

So for this little 4.25 x 4.25 card I used Carmel, Artichoke, River, Chocolate Chip & Vanilla card stocks. Even though it's for a man I still added a touch of Chocolate grosgrain ribbon, I couldn't help myself. The set is Moose You from Stampin' Up!

Thank you

I was inspired to make another card with the Just Celebrate set. It was the perfect excuse to use Rust, Brocade, and Marigold. It was also another good reason to use the Nestablilities and my Cuttlebug again. I am really glad that I spent the money on my Cuttlebug, what a great little machine.

Whoo hoo!

So I took the Just Celebrate set from Stampin' Up! and got out the color challenge colors from Splitcoaststampers and here's my card. I had some help from my cuttlebug, Nestibilities Scallop Rectangles, Lasting Impressions matt brads and Stampin' Up! ribbons. I like the way it turned out and the colors are great together.
